Computing Correlation Coefficients in Excel

To compute the correlation coefficient between two variables (Pearson’s), use the CORREL function.  Let’s say for example that a researcher is interested in the relationship between students’ GPA and hours spent studying.

Note that the CORREL function yields the same results as the PEARSON function.
