DRAFT - Do Not Distribute

This content is released as a draft version for comment by the scholarly community.  Please do not distribute.

The purpose of this collection of documents is to allow our colleagues in the criminal justice community to provide feedback on the content as it is developed.  As such, it is incomplete and will contain many errors; we ask that you not distribute it or use it in your courses at this stage.   When it is put into its final form, we will remove the “DRAFT” tags, and the final textbook will be made available for free to the scholarly community as an OER textbook.  We will also make Kindle and print versions available at a low cost through Amazon’s KDP program.

This WILL BE the landing page for the final version of the text once it is published.   As of now, this text is a WORKING DRAFT and is made available for review and comment by the criminal justice community.  Please do not treat this content as active by using it / incorporating it into your course until the “DRAFT” notices are removed by the authors.

  1. Good afternoon, Dr. McKay!

I am a professor of criminal justice who is trying to incorporate OER in lieu of a required purchase text in an online class. I am currently looking for an OER text for Intro to Criminology for a Spring 2020 start date. I like your draft version of the OER criminology text and I was wondering the anticipated date of the final version being available to share with students.

    Thank you for your time,
    Dr. Dillard
